Causes Of Pitta Imbalance In The System:

The major factors that aggravate pitta dosha include:

1. Eating pitta aggravating foods (pungent, sour, salty, very spicy, deep-fried, processed, red meat)
2.Consuming caffeine (coffee), black tea, nicotine (smoking), alcohol
3. Prolonged exposure to the sun
4. Anxiety and depression
5. Thyroid disorders
6. Heartburn, acid reflux, peptic ulcers 


Foods for PITTA DOSHA

1.Vegetables:
Sweet and bitter veggies like asparagus, cabbage, cucumber, cauliflower, green beans, lettuce, peas, potatoes, sprouts and mushrooms.

2.Grains:
Barley, oats basmati or white rice and wheat.
Eggs are fine. It is suggested to otherwise stick to a vegetarian diet and steer clear of poultry, meat, seafood.

3. Oils:
Dishes can be cooked with limited quantities of coconut oil, olive oil, sunflower oil.

4. Spices:
Subtly flavorful condiments like cinnamon, turmeric, cardamom, fennel, and black pepper can be added to salads, soups and cooked meals. It is advised to lower salt intake.

5. Fruits:
Sweet fruits like apples, avocados, coconuts, figs, melons, oranges, pears, plums, pomegranates and mangoes. Dried fruit should be avoided.

6.Sweeteners:
Brown sugar, honey.
Milk And Dairy Products:
Preferably unsalted butter, ghee, milk and cheese.
